Thursday April 22, 1999 Poets from all over the Oakland will come together for one night of sharing some of the best poetry in the United States. The event will be held at Mills College Student Union 5000 MacArthur Blvd Oakland, Ca 94613 This event will start at 6:00 pm with International Cuisine and the event starts at 7:00 pm. "Listen Up" will featuring Mills College Upward Bound Students from all over Oakland High Schools, Mills MFA poets and fiction writers, Special Guest June Jordan Poetry for the People at UC Berkeley. The money raised by Listen Up! will go directly to funding college tours for Upward Bound students. This year our goal is to raise $10,000.00.
